Kidney stone inhibition
Kidney stones are solid amalgamations of salts, proteins, and membranes. The primary consituent of most kindey stones is a salt comprised of calcium and oxalate (calcium oxalate monohydrate, abbreiviated as COM). In order, to circumvent the formation of kidney stones, several compounds that inhibit the growth have been identified and studied. This article defines a computer simulation used for the study of a specific inhibitor, citrate, and aided in the discovery of its mechanism of action.
