Every 30 seconds a child dies from malaria.
This disease is wide-spread throughout Africa and is transmitted between
mosquitos and humans through blood. The Anopheline mosquito delivers
the eukaryotic parasite, Plasmodium, which infiltrates and destroys human
red blood cells. Based upon our core metabolism simulator, our Plasmodium
model tests and predicts various strategies to reduce the propagation and survival
of this organism within its two hosts.
